About the Artist

Daniel Bear’s art expresses a grassroots appeal as he builds an organic texture of oil paints on raw wood creating contemporary landscapes and wildlife paintings. A series of glazes are layered over textured paints to establish a sense of luminosity. Balance between a rustic and modern appeal is created as brilliant oil colors compliment the natural wood grain of the painting surfaces.

Daniel was born in the small agricultural community of Powell, Wyoming in 1989 and has lived in the West most of his life.

After high school, he studied art at the University of Wyoming, where he earned a Bachelor’s in Art Education. He pursued painting and taught art at the elementary school level from 2016-2019. Currently, he lives in Bozeman, MT.
